disastrous proposal to create chicken/egg factory in our peaceful hamlet.

    in Wealden Woods - Against

We are horrified at the proposal to create the above in the middle of Chainhurst. There will be upwards of 200,000 chickens, housed in unsightly huts. Articulated lorries will be thundering up and down the road, bringing food, collecting eggs and disposing of waste. As it is, our house (an oasthouse) shakes when large vehicles go past. How much worse would it be with the proposed increase in vehicle activity. There is a 7.5 ton restriction on Hunton Road which, apparently, is being ignored. In addition, existing footpaths would be re routed or closed, not to mention the harm to wildlife in the area. Everyone with an interest in protecting the countryside should say 'no' to this application.

Hi Peter. Well said. WE say NO! I hope other subscribers will comment with their views too, as we need more views if we are going to stop this happening....

    Hi Julie.

Thank you for your valued comment.

We do hope that our email campaigns 'outlining the reasons why' this proposed development of a Massive Chicken Farm should 'NOT' be built in the middle of residential Chainhurst, and on the banks of the River Beult SSSI, are also changing the views of some, who are 'FOR' The Fridays Chicken Farm and 200,000 chickens.

We do 'SAY YES' to British Farming but... 'SAY NO' to Fridays Chicken Farm and 200,000 chickens.
